The Centre for Mind and Behaviour (CMB) is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Rijeka, established in December 2021.
Our Vision is to advance research and education by bringing together national and international researchers who study behaviour and mental processes from a wide range of disciplines.
The CMB unites researchers from psychology, economics, health sciences, and technical engineering and fosters interdisciplinarity and collaboration.

We are active in three areas: research, eduction, and public outreach.
Through shared infrastructure and organisation of talks and conferences, the CMB enhances interdisciplinary and international collaborations on the study of mental processes and behaviour.
The CMB is involved in study programmes at the University of Rijeka at both graduate and postgraduate level. Currently, it is closely linked to Masters and PhD programmes in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences. In the future, it will also enhance research opportunities for students from other disciplines.
Through citizen science projects, public lectures and workshops, as well as events for specific target audiences, the CMB aims to strengthen the link between Higher Education and society and the local community.
The CMB was founded as an extension of the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, which supports experimental and non-experimental testing of theories and models explaining human behaviour and experiences. Members of the Laboratory have a strong track record in terms of research projects, high-quality research output, and dissemination at domestic and international conferences. The Laboratory further plays an important role in supporting the research of early career researchers (Masters and PhD students). While the Laboratory for Experimental Psychology is continuing its work, the extension into the Centre allows
researchers from different disciplines to build up a wider, interdisciplinary, and international network, and to strengthen research infrastructure.
