Prof. Igor Bajšanski

Igor Bajšanski teaches courses in cognitive psychology and psychology of learning. He has collaborated on several research projects in cognitive and educational psychology. He currently leads a research project “Metacognitive Processes in Learning and Reasoning”, funded by the University of Rijeka.

He conducts experimental research on metacognitive processes, in particular on meta-reasoning. These studies use methodology developed in a domain of meta-memory to study monitoring and regulation of thinking processes, such as reasoning and judgment. Theoretical approaches to metacognitive monitoring are used to examine sources and accuracy of metacognitive judgments related to reasoning. He also studies determinants of metacognitive processes in other domains of cognition, for example, in category learning.
